What better way to communicate to college kids on the insanely boring topic of buying books...
Cool animation too. There are 3 more spots (equally as good).

Spacelift
For all you losers who are still using last year's social networking site – the clunky old website known as MySpace... you now have no reason to still be behind the times. There's a new Facebook app called Spacelift that's set to launch any day now (was supposed to be yesterday) will automatically go in and retrieve most of the pertinent info from your MySpace account and reformat it into a Facebook page:

Pretty cool although I still don't like to install many apps in Facebook, cuz when you do, you're essentially sharing all your personal info with the usually unknown creator of that app. But that's just me...

Protect your brand
After one of their planes exploded last Monday (thankfully no one was killed)... the powers that be at China Airlines (which is actually a Taiwan company - so no need to worry about high lead content in the white paint they used) immediately went into damage control mode...

Via
This is not uncommon in the airline industry as we have often seen big tarps covering the tail logos of other crashed planes, but according to this blog, China airlines apparently has plenty of experience in these types of "cover-ups"

World's most important energy drink!
In the vein of the butterfly's wings causing the hurricane... here's a very well done animated spot for gnist energy drinks.

Japanese Gameshow
Remember back when SNL was awesome and had arguably the best writers and performers ever? Hartman, Carvey and Lovitz... Myers, Sandler and Farley. Those were great years! Here's a skit that is an all time classic. I needed a good laugh today. I am still in tears as I write this.

Marketing Manager Olympics

You don't have to be a Marketing Manager to appreciate these great games. There's the "Street Challenge" where you have to hand out flyers to the correct people on the street while jumping on a pogo stick, and the "Budget Challenge" where you must spend your media budget as quickly and efficiently as possible via your "money hose", and my favourite one... the "DM Challenge" where you compete against the 3 other managers in an Direct-Mail envelope lick-off... but be careful... don't go too fast... licking envelopes can be very dangerous!

(This is especially poignant and incredibly ironic cuz as I am writing this post, Gail is not only currently stuffing and sealing hundreds of envelopes but they are also to be sent out to 2tongues.ca respondents!)

iPhone Bills
Here's a couple scary videos regarding some of the crazy billing surrounding the iPhone:
First is a girl named Justine who documents her life on her blog. She recently got her first bill... in a BOX! It was 300 pages! Her story was a viral sensation, was picked up by Yahoo! and she was even interviewed on CNN.
Next is this great one from some dude who took his phone to Europe. Apparently the over $4000 bill is his actual bill. (Read the whole story here)

I love the ironic use of the iPhone music in the videos.
UPDATE TO THIS POST:
My friend in California told me his first bill was 50 pages. So let's say that an average of 50 pages per all 700,000 iPhone users... thats 3.5 million sheets of paper! That equals God knows how many trees! Plus... Some quick figuring... a 500 sheet ream of paper is 5 lbs. so that means 70,000 lbs or 35 tons of paper mailed every month (burning God knows how much fuel to deliver)... just for the iPhone. That's it... I'm alerting Al Gore! (He does say though, that it is still hands down the best phone ever.)

Alive Inside
This spot has a bit of the same vibe as Coke's Happiness factory, but with an edgier feel... and drums
Happiness Factory II
I still like the first one better, but this epic sequel definitely deserves a look.

Chinglish
Sure, I realize that if I tried to directly translate Mandarin to English, it would ensue in equal hilarity for our Chinese friends, but hey... if we can't have a little laugh at each other, than we are taking life too seriously.
Check out this great/huge Flickr collection of some "interesting" translations found around China and beyond. Here's a couple of my favs...

Baby names

Wacky New Zealand family tries to name their baby "4Real", gets rejected by the government - decides to name him Superman instead. There's no way this kid is gonna get teased on the playground...

Cool idea - using chairs to make the spine... Apparently MANY others thought it was too!

All Bran helps you lay pipe
I always love a good poop metaphor (Let's take the Browns to the Super Bowl this year). These visual ones are especially good! The more you watch it, the more you'll pick up. Hilarious.

Simpsonize Me!
I have never seen such a crazy amount of innovative and original marketing and PR surrounding a summer movie. Starting with the contest to choose the Springfield USA to host the premiere, to the partnership with 7/11 to changeover some of their stores to Kwik-E-Marts. There's been so many more examples. Here's another one... In their partnership with BK, they have created a site where you can upload a photo of yourself – and with the help of state-of-the-art facial recognition software – create a Simpsons version of yourself. When finished, you can further customize it and even buy coffee mugs or T-shirts with your newly created character on them. Too cool.
Here's some of the TV spots surrounding the promo:
