Food Flags

To promote the Sydney International Food Festival (Australia’s largest food festival), the imaginative team at WHYBIN\TBWA re-created 17 national flags using foods common to each nation. I wonder what they would have done for Canadian?

Australia: meat pie and sauce.

Brazil: banana leaf, limes, pineapple and passion fruit.

China: pittaya/dragon fruit and star fruit.

France: Blue cheese, brie and grapes.

Greece: Kalamata olives and feta cheese.

India: curries, rice, and pappadum wafer.

Indonesia: spicy curries and rice (Sambal).

Italy: Basil, pasta, and tomatoes

Japan: tuna and rice.

Lebanon: lavash, fattoush and herb sprig.

South Korea: Kimbap and sauces.

Spain: chorizo and rice.
Switzerland’s flag made from charcuteries and emmental.
Thailand: sweet chilli sauce, shredded coconut and blue swimmer crab.



Turkey: Turkish Delights (Lokum).

UK: scone, cream and jams. 
US: hot dogs, ketchup, and mustard or cheese.

Vietnam: rambutan, lychee and starfruit.
