Needed: 25,000 Hearts
Back in January, Sue Stultz called and mentioned this idea she had to help raise money for the three area hospitals (Moncton, Sackville, Albert County). Considering the amount Sue already gives to the community (her famous Christmas Turkey Drive is one example), it was a no-brainer that we would be there to get involved (I can remember as a kid - Sue always having a bag of chips or a chocolate bar for me anytime she'd happen to see me with my parents grocery shopping back in her "Save-Easy" days. I loved her then, and I love her now!).
Sue thought she could rally together the community with the help of all the local Mainway and Irving stores as well as some local businesses to raise $25,000 for the Healthy Returns campaign. One thing about Sue is that she never thinks small!
Sue noted that with most large capital campaigns, big businesses are able to donate huge sums of money, which is awesome, but often times, the community wants to help too. What's great about Sue's Heart drive, is that anyone can contribute (it only takes a Loonie)... and they are!
As of today (Tuesday), almost 5,000 hearts have already been sold and the campaign is only been running since last Friday! (See more in today's Times & Transcript)
Thank you Sue for everything you do! Thank you for thinking of us! We're glad to help.
You can help too! Go to any of the 11 Irving Mainways (including Sue's store; Centennial Irving at 650 St. George Blvd.) or come visit us at Razor and purchase a heart today!
