200,000 packs of smokes

Last year, I posted on Chris Jordan's work about aluminum cans. Here's another one in his photographic series entitled Running the Numbers: an American Self-Portrait which visually examines the vast and bizarre measures of our society, in large intricately detailed prints assembled from thousands of smaller photographs. It depicts 200,000 packs of cigarettes, equal to the number of Americans who die from cigarette smoking every six months. WOW!

While there, check out the latest one called Plastic Cups which depicts one million plastic cups, the number used on airline flights in the US every six hours.
