A downtown Moncton fast food favourite has closed its doors.
The Burger King outlet that has stood at the corner of Main and Downing streets, across the street from Moncton City Hall, closed over the Christmas period.
Burger King officials did not respond to inquiries about the store's fate. Workers have removed the restaurant's signs from the building and its windows are now covered with brown paper, which would suggest its days as a fast food emporium have run its course.
The restaurant has been there for at least a decade and drew large crowds at mealtimes, though perhaps less so during off-peak hours.
Owners of the building that housed the restaurant could not immediately be reached to comment on what might replace Burger King at that location.
